Author Guidelines

We welcome original and high-quality submissions from researchers, scholars, and professionals across disciplines relevant to our journal's scope. Authors should ensure their manuscripts align with the journal's focus and follow the structure and formatting standards outlined in these guidelines.

• Original Work OnlySubmissions must represent original work not previously published or currently under consideration at another journal.
• Scope AlignmentManuscripts must align with the journal's stated aims and scope. Submissions that fall outside the scope will be returned without review.
• LanguageManuscripts must be written in clear, concise English. Authors whose first language is not English are encouraged to have their manuscripts reviewed by a native speaker before submission.

Manuscripts should be formatted using clear, concise language and structured to allow editors and reviewers to assess the work efficiently.

• AbstractAuthors must include an abstract of no more than 250 words summarising the main findings and significance of the research.
• Body StructureThe manuscript body should be divided into clear sections: Introduction, Methodology, Results, Discussion, and Conclusion.
• Tables and FiguresAll tables, figures, and references must be properly cited, labelled, and submitted as part of the main manuscript file.
• KeywordsAuthors are encouraged to include 4–6 keywords that accurately reflect the subject matter of the article to improve discoverability in academic databases.

Accurate and consistent referencing is essential for the credibility of the manuscript and the integrity of the academic record.

• Citation StyleAll references should follow the citation style prescribed by the journal (e.g., APA, MLA, Chicago). Authors must apply the chosen style consistently throughout the manuscript.
• Accuracy and CompletenessIt is the author's responsibility to ensure the accuracy and completeness of all references before submission. Incomplete or incorrectly formatted references will delay the review process.
• FootnotesFootnotes should be used sparingly and only when necessary for clarification. They must not be used as a substitute for in-text citations or reference list entries.

To ensure a fair double-blind peer review process, manuscripts must be prepared to conceal the identity of the authors from reviewers.

• Remove Identifying InformationAll identifying information — including author names, affiliations, and self-referential citations — must be removed from the main manuscript file before submission.
• Separate Title PageA separate title page must include the full names, affiliations, and contact details of all contributing authors.
• Corresponding AuthorThe corresponding author must provide a valid email address. An ORCID iD is strongly encouraged for all authors.
• Mandatory DisclosuresAny conflicts of interest, funding sources, or ethical approvals must be disclosed on the title page at the time of submission.

Authors should submit their manuscripts through the journal's online submission system. All submissions undergo a structured review process before a final editorial decision is made.

• Online SubmissionAll manuscripts must be submitted through the journal's official online submission portal. Submissions sent via email will not be considered.
• Preliminary ReviewOnce received, submissions will undergo a preliminary review for adherence to these guidelines before being assigned for peer review.
• Double-Blind Peer ReviewAll qualifying submissions are subject to a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure fair and unbiased evaluation.
• RevisionsAuthors may be asked to revise their manuscripts based on reviewer feedback. The editorial team reserves the right to make final decisions regarding acceptance or rejection.

By submitting to the journal, authors grant the publisher the right to publish and distribute the article under the terms of the journal's open access or licensing policy.

• Copyright RetentionAuthors retain the copyright to their work unless otherwise stated in the journal's licensing agreement.
• Open AccessPublished articles will be made freely available online under the journal's open access policy, maximising readership and citation potential.
• Publishing LicenceBy submitting, authors grant OIJSEM a non-exclusive licence to publish, reproduce, and distribute the article in both print and digital formats.
